Beginner Surf Beaches On The Gold Coast

Sunday 26 January 2020

The Gold Coast is known for its amazing surf beaches, especially in the heart of Surfers Paradise. However, most of these beaches are not ideal for beginners who are just starting out as many beaches have sand bars making it hard to get out into the surf. Below are three beaches which are perfect for beginners and even for the more advanced.

1. Currumbin Alley

This spot has more green waves then white waves but is perfect for first timers as their soft boards are usually longer. Mini mals would also be perfect at the beach. I found that it was really hard to catch waves as I was using a short board.

2. Rainbow Bay

This is by far one of the best beaches on the Gold Coast. Waves are clean, easy to catch and suitable for all levels and skills. Definitely the best spot to learn to surf on the small white waves.

3. Burleigh Heads

Burleigh Heads is one of the beaches on the long strip of the Gold Coast, however it doesn’t have the sand bar like the rest of those beaches so it’s easier to get out and catch some waves.
